LEUKAEMIAS

Haemopoietic stem cells are capable of self-renewal as well as differentiation into the various cellular components of blood. This orderly sequence, when interrupted by malignant transformation results in leukaemia. A subset of these disorders that rapidly lead to death if untreated and others with less aggressive behaviour are called chronic leukaemias.

Types

a) Acute –

1) Lymphoblastic leukaemia
2) Honlymphoblastic leukaemia

b) Chronic –

1) Chronic myeloid leukaemia
2) Leukaemias of lymphoid cells
3) Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia
4) Hairy cell leukaemia

Ayurveda approach

According to ayurveda, all three doshas are involved in this disease and is difficult to cure. But if ayurvedic medicines are started with diet control, this disease can be controlled very successfully, especially chronic leukaemias. Therefore, ayurvedic treatment is definitely advised for this problem.
